Anyone played with this yet? How does it work?
I can't find any reference to it in the rules.

What are your references that prove "this" exists and deserves to be discussed?

You can see it exists if you look at the game variant options. I'd also like to know what charity mode does, it would be nice to have that in the rules.

This additional option is a recent addition and a reference was needed.
I suppose this option answers this suggestion : https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=14194 .

It is up to the developer to explain how it works.

I have just translated some new strings for the game Toc, and I think I have understood that, with the Charity mode, a player who did not play during X turns (X = 1, 2 or 3) has the possibility to claim a named card to his opponents.
I assume that the opponents cannot refuse the card claimed, so I find it strange to call this mode "charity", because charity cannot be obligatory. It would be more of a tax, tribute or rapine.

Hi diamant,

This is as you describe. I leave the word "charity" because I find it quite ironic :P

Have fun with it!

Hi everyone,
We try the charity mode but maybe there a little bug. When m'y opponent didn't go out du ring three turn, she ask an Ace but she get nothing. Or, I had one. See the picture below.

Since the partner is supposed to give you an appropriate card during the exchange, I think that the card claimed must be in the hand of an opponent so that the player who claims it gets it. Therefore, the partner is not affected by the request, but both opponents are. The linked image shows a log announcing two players not involved, so it also seems like a bug to me.

Hi!

I did not replay the game but it may be because you could not play during the last turns too. In that case the player could not demand any card from you then.
I posted today a complete reference on all Toc variants here, which covers them in details including how charity works: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 22&p=54742
A bit verbose I'm afraid (and probably ill-written since English is not my mother tongue...) but at least anything you may think should be there.

Take care,
Wood
