How does Arena calculate results?

My wife is on gold and will sometimes go up a shield or two with first or second place. Then of course a loss in third-fifth usually drops 2-3 shields.
However, today she was in fifth place and got a shield.
This game the scores were pretty close, with only 2 players above zero.

Just curious how shields are awarded.

Hi,
the sheild only depends on your final classement, whatever the scores.
Then, it depends on the leagues of the opponents that you beat and the opponents against which you lost.
