3 Player Tournament - TROYES

Post by mighty_jubbo »

I would love to create a TROYES tournament in the following format:

Round 1 - 27 players - 9 tables of 3 players per table - winner of each table goes to round 2

Round 2 - 9 players - 3 tables of 3 players per table - winner of each table goes to round 3

Round 3 - 3 players - 1 table of 3 players - winner is crowned tournament champion

I have played Risk on Major Command for many years and the tournament engine on here is great and very flexible. Can something similar be done for this site?

Hi!

Sort answer is: no, this cannot be done natively in BGA, because tournaments here only cater for two players at the table.

There are some alternatives to track tournaments externally, e.g. Challonge is used by some people here to create tournaments like you are describing (https://challonge.com/ - it seems to be down now!).

I have an experimental site to track tournaments with n people at the table at https://torneo.introm.it/. In your case, it would still be a 9-participants tournaments, but everybody would play against everybody else in 4 rounds (i.e. each player participates into 4 matches) and you would have to decide on a point system, much like what happens in e.g. football leagues. See an example here: https://torneo.introm.it/?tid=8

If you are interested in this let you can watch this video with all the instructions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87FjFt5GybQ&t=80s - in case something is not clear let me know and I can help you.
