Dinosaur Tea Party and Conspiracy (Restoration Games)

Post by sooz »

Hi Everyone!

Restoration is so excited to have our games on BGA. We've already got licenses in place with BGA and I believe both Downforce and Unmatched have been picked up by this wonderful group.

But that does leave two of our other great titles needing some developer love.

Conspiracy: The Solomon Gambit is a game of betting and bluffing set in a 60s spy era. Players bid sovereigns to control agents in the field in order to get the briefcase back to a specific headquarters. Meanwhile, the mysterious Dr Solomon is always lurking in the background working to ensure he ends up with the precious intel case. The game plays 2-4 players and runs 30 - 60 minutes.

Dinosaur Tea Party is a lightweight deduction game for 3-5 players featuring fabulous elegant dinosaur illustrations. Players are dinos at a fancy tea party who, because they have brains the size of walnuts, have forgotten the other guests' names. So you players ask each other questions like "Darling - you look fabulous in that pretty HAT today" to seek out if the opponent's representative dino is wearing a hat. This one will likely want to incorporate the in game chat to accomplish - but we're open to suggestions on how to make it fun online!

Restoration is happy to provide art assets and be available for Q&A for rules questions etc. Additionally, as a thank you, Restoration would love to send the developer a copy of the game they work on plus a full set of Fireball Island with all expansions.

Happy to answer questions if you have any!

Hi Suzanne!
First, English is not my native language so sorry in advance ;)
Dinosaur Tea Party sounds real fun to play and to code. I love the artwork! I'm new developing here, but I'm a software engingeer and I've been developing software for 8 years.

I get that communication is key in Dinosaur Tea Party but I'm not sure the chat will work well in and online game with the rules implemented. This is my suggestion:

The board has the 20 dinosaurs visible to all players and each player has their dinosaur card and 15 trait tokens. In my turn, I can click in a trait token and then in another player to ask them about that trait. The answer of the player is automatic because the rules are implemented and there is only 1 possible answer. Every game has a log visible to all players with the actions taken and results where, tipically, the previous action would be:
-You ask PLAYER_2 about a HAT
-PLAYER_2 answers YES
To make it more fun, I think that we could invent a set of questions and answers and each action would choose one (random). Example of questions:
-You : "PLAYER_2 - you look fabulous in that pretty <WEARING_TOKEN> today"
-You : “Hello, PLAYER_2. Wonderful party, isn’t it? Are you, perchance, wearing <WEARING_TOKEN>?"
So if is ask for a hat (similar with glasses, etc), the log says:
-You : "PLAYER_2 - you look fabulous in that pretty HAT today"
-You : “Hello, PLAYER_2. Wonderful party, isn’t it? Are you, perchance, wearing A HAT?"

I'm not very imaginative, so if you want to get involved in this, that would be great!

The advantage of this approach is that there is no language barrier between players, because the texts can be translated and reading the log would be like the conversation taken in a typical board game table.

Dinosaur Tea Party

Hi everyone,

I wanna like that game very much. I like the artwork, the basic idea... it is a game I wanna play more often...
What a pitty that the game will end so quickly. And that the rules say that everyone has a hidden dino, the others must guess correct...
Often all other players guess about MY dino, so that I have no chance to get hints about their dinos. And when I guess almost all things right but failed at the last thing, the next player finishes that guessing luckily...

I hope that the designer of that game will find some special rules to avoid this.

Please make this game a little more strategic and longer...

It is such a lovely design and idea...
