I am not the first to ask this but the only older post I could find (perhaps due to the search limitations!) was locked without any reply:

I have tried using the advanced search page's default search (which by default says it will "Search for all terms or use query as entered") and I have tried using the '+' operator in the advanced search page but it still ignores 'common' words. And using quotes like "xxxxx" is apparently not an option.
Does anyone know how to use the forum search functions to force it to NOT ignore words? Is this a bug?
FWIW, "Search for all terms" should not even be the same function as "use query as entered". The first should ignore the word order but still require each term to be somewhere in the result, while the second should return only results including the entire search phrase exactly as entered.
Also, it would also be nice if after clicking a result from a search results list, then going 'back' that it would reload the same search results list rather than just return to a blank search page, and going back from that would return to the search page with the prior search terms and options (again rather than a blank search page), but that is a separate issue...
