No one misses the memorization?

Hi, until recently, I played Hanabi only IRL and me and my friends didn't quite like it because the memorization part is "too heavy" for us. (Maybe we were not creative enough in marking hand cards by sorting them or rotating them or whatever.)
Now I discover that the BGA adaptation leaves out the memorization aspect of the game almost entirely. Well, so far so good, BGA admins themselves said that this is an adaptation of the game.

What really surprises me is that almost everyone seems to be ok with that. I don't find any big complaints in the forum about this being against the spirit of the game or that people demand a game variant with no permanent markers on cards.

For real-life games, the memorization aspect is a core mechanic of the game. Is nobody really missing it on BGA? I am also asking because there is an ongoing discussion in the 7Wonders forum about whether the memorization part of 7W is a core aspect of it and some players strongly argue that it is and that they do not want to miss it. However, memorization is even more obviously a core mechanic for real-life Hanabi but nobody seems to care that it isn't on BGA Hanabi. It's just a bit unexpected to me and I wanted to read what the Hanabi players think about it.

The momorization aspect is still annoying at 'higher' level with negative clues.
Someone got a 4 which is either not playable (green) or playable (red).
But that person got a negative green clue on it 10 turns ago.
What do you do?

I don't like not having the team agree on everything. I feel like adding another layer of confusion by not marking cards just make the game way less fun.

Playing Hanabi in real life is difficult.
To memorize each clue.
To find players to play with.
To accomplish perfect finish.

So in real life, adopt a system of sequence.
Just like on BGA, left to right,
Layout discard pile,
And leave conventions at home.

In the card game, we are allowed to rearrange and manipulate cards to help with remembering.
I have been lucky to play with the deluxe Tiles, so that was easier on the hands.
But the big issue is our age? I am just too old to remember that stuff. Our 'gang' has started using colored dice to help with the memory! LOL :D

I have 3D-printed small clips that slide on top of the cards to help with that.
Its pretty much impossible to play high level hanabi without the markers.

I never interpreted hanabi rules as saying you couldn’t ask for reminders on your hand IRL. I’m often checking/asking my friend, “so this is blue, this is 5” etc. or reminding a friend if they remember correctly but have got their cards back to front. I never thought about it as a game of memory, more strategy.

Same. I frequently ask IRL for informal confirmation of the clues multiple turns latter.
(including asking "who gave this clue?" and "when did I received this clue?")
This, plus the fact that we allow to rotate/reorder cards that received clues to simplify memorisation.
