Elo Tracking Feature

Post by danisthirty »

Hello. I'm not sure whether this is the correct place to ask, but am hopeful that it can be moved if not...

One thing I've always enjoyed about BGA is the depths into which can be dived when looking at player statistics, especially Elo rating. Since Elo can be rather a fickle friend and changes frequently, I'd be interested to track it over a period of time to see whether it's going up or down and also the maximum that it has reached, either for myself or for other players via their profile page. Much of this information seems to be available on the "Rank Evolution" graph but it isn't always easy to get exact numbers from this and I wondered whether it might be possible to present this in a slightly more accessible way?

Ideally, I'd like to be able to select a number of days (e.g. 7/ 30/ 100 or some specific number) and to see how Elo has changed over that period perhaps in terms of what it was at the start of the period compared to what it is now and how it has changed. So if I see that 30 days ago my Elo was 500 and it's now 560 then I know it's grown by 2 points per day. Additionally, it would also be interesting to see how my Elo has changed over my last x number of games in the same way. Then I can see what my average increase/ decrease is per game over the last 10 / 50 / 100 / x games and perhaps even attempt to predict where it might end up if that trajectory is maintained.

If the above isn't possible, or is too complex, perhaps just the addition of "Max Elo achieved" and/or "Elo change over last 30 days" (or "last 30 games") as additional fields on the profile page would be of interest, and would contribute towards an extra level of detail that isn't currently available in a useful way.

Thanks!

The feature you are asking for exists! Go to Games, then click on the name of the game, then scroll down to "acheivements". There's a link "my statistics for the game", which give you a graph of your ELO rating over time.

There also used to be an ELO ranking feature, but if it still exists, I can't find it. If you were in the top 100 players, ranked by ELO, your rank was displayed next to your ELO. And somewhere, there was a list you could access of the top 100 players and their ELO rankings. Does anyone know if this feature still exists, and if so, how to access it?

When you are on the main page of a game, scroll down to the Arena ranking. On top-right of that frame, you can change "Current Season" to "All-time". For instance https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=carcassonne

I second this! I would love this feature, too.

PS: If you play Arena, you may like this feature: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... =3&t=17051
When you change the nickname in the URL to your nickname, you see your Arena rank over time. Works currently only for a few games though.
