Bug et pénalités

Post by Cheyenne »

Bonjour,
Concernant HANABY :

Merci

Bonjour .... is the only word I can understand :D

If the translation into English is correct.
You raised 3 issues that are
  • 1. Cancel or abandon game to preserve elo / points
  • 2. To penalize cancel game that preserve elo / points
  • 3. High elo level players do not play with apprentice level.
I do not represent BGA or Hanabi playing community so this is my view.
I shall address the points in reverse order if you consider my view.

Hanabi is a cooperative game where players work together.

If a player fails on the table then all players on the table lose elo.
If all players are successful then all players outscore BGA bots can earn elo.

Therefore, having high level elo gives a player access to more players.
As you have experience, low level players struggle to find players.
This is one reason Hanabi players treasure elo and access to high level players.

BGA has set tables that players cannot restrict players one level below host.
Example master level host cannot restrict expert level from table's host.

BGA also makes it easy for new players to earn elo.
BGA also set that the more games played, the more difficult to earn elo.
This is another reason Hanabi players treasure earned elo.

High level players like to play highest Difficulty table setting.
The mental challenge and success is rewarding in such setting.
When low level players cannot find a table to play, they rush into such setting.
New player may not know of an expert/master level and Difficulty table setting.
So when new player fail, expert players lose elo that is not their fault for losing.

Plus some players refuse to cancel / abandon game force all players to suffer lost of elo.
These two main reasons makes high level players cautious inviting low level players too.
= Answer to Cheyenne's point number 3 :)

Do you play a game for fun or to punish other players?
If you play for fun then why judge other players?
What makes you a better person to judge other players?

So if you come to play for fun, why do you ask about PENALIZING other players?
Who are you to punish other players?

To penalize player, after game, click on the red thumb on that player.
= Answer to Cheyenne's point number 2 :)

Hanabi is a cooperative game.
If you are not cooperative in the game.
Then no Hanabi player wants to play your game.

When Cheyenne label Hanabi players as "Triste mentalité de gamins."

This is unfair stereotype even before you meet the player.
And if Cheyenne has such stereotype mentality against player
Then players will assume Cheyenne is not cooperative player.

Cheyenne will not help Hanabi players gain or retain elo then who will care about Cheyenne ?
Cheyenne will cause Hanabi players to lose the elo that they earn before Cheyenne.

In summary
1. Hanabi is a cooperative game
2. Cheyenne not cooperative should play other game
3. Cheyenne may cause Hanabi players to lose, who will care about Cheyenne?

Hanabi players spent time playing with Cheyenne, is that not worth anything to Cheyenne?

4. If Cheyenne do not care about elo then why not help players retain elo that they earn before playing with Cheyenne ?

To cancel / abandon the game, players on the table must click "yes' agree.
Will you cooperate?
This is your choice.
= Answer to Cheyenne's point number 1. :)

Hanabi is a cooperative game.
Thank you and have fun with other games.

2p: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=107678507
Here is a game with a player with around 218 elo
and after Kyabetuu played over 100 Hanabi but
still have not learn Hanabi rulebook
but insist in playing Very Difficult setting.

Should high level player lose elo because other players are inconsiderate / failures?

I hope you understand and if you choose to play Hanabi, bring a cooperative mindset to your table. Have fun!
