Clarification on going to BETA

Post by MikeIsHere »

I found the post on how to go from alpha to private/public beta
Q: When does a project move from "Alpha" to "Beta"? A: When the BGA reviewers and the publisher/designer think it's ready!

Since Cribbage is public domain there is no publisher to review
Currently I have

31 have given their approval, with an average rating of 5

But I just released a version with 5 bug/improvement fixes
So does this count need to be reset for the latest version?
Before I go to beta, do I have to complete the Wiki page for the game?
Should a certain amount of translations be completed?
Anything else that needs to be completed before Beta?

Thank you

Hello!
The answer is in the email each developer receives when one of their game is moved to alpha :)
Please let me know if you don't have it anymore and I'll send it again.
(and of course, for public domain games there is no publisher approval needed)

Here is what I read from the email
Then, you can request your game to be moved from "Alpha" to "Beta" to be available to play by the whole BGA community:
when you have received at least 10 approvals from BGA reviewers for your game;
when the publisher/designer who authorized the adaptation is satisfied and gives their green light (if you are not in contact with them, you can contact studio@boardgamearena.com when you match the previous condition so that we can help with organizing a validation playtest).
So I notify studio@boardgamearena.com when the publisher is not satisfied, do I use the same email to contact about moving to beta

Also, I have received 31 reviews on a previous version should I wait for 10 reviews on the latest version?

Yes, all studio development related requests should go to studio@boardgamearena.com

No, you don't need 10 approval on the latest version, you need at least 10 in total before requesting beta (this number may evolve in the future if we see that some reviewers approve too easily).

In summary: you can request Cribbage to be examined for going to beta by emailing studio@boardgamearena.com
