Resign, no time limit

Post by Dee1553 »

Does anyone know how you can resign from a game the other gamers are not playing? I joined a game over a month ago that had no time limit. The other two participants barely started and are not playing despite messages and because it has no time limit, there seems to be no way I can either get them to quit or quit myself without incurring penalty. I now make sure a game has a time limit but I was new to BGA when I joined this one.

Well you can resign every game. I think that your opponent do not have to agree to that - but I am not sure on that.

If you are in your game, click on the three horizontal lines (hamburger icon?) on the top right. You will be shown a Resign Flag then.

If it is a game in Training Mode, you can simply abandon it without any penalty.

If it is a game in Normal Mode, you can either just actively abandon the game and take the small penalty which is really not a big issue (Karma of 80% or 90% shouldn't do you any harm and you gain +1% back for each completed game.) Or you just ignore the game and after a certain number of months in inactivity, it gets removed from the server automatically.

I was setting up in training mode, but it gave me a box that I understand it's a commitment to finish.

Am I missing something?
