If I want to check out a new game as it's being played how do I become a spectator for that game?????????

Click the GAMES menu on the top bar, find the game and click on it to bring up the game page.
The game page will look like this
Scroll down to the section "SEE THE GAME IN ACTION"
You'll see an animation of an archived game. Below that, click the link "You can also: Watch a game in progress (x games in progress)"
That will bring up a list of games in progress. Click on any real-time table to load a game in progress as a spectator.
