Historical game data?

Post by Wicksweff »

Hey all,

Is there any way to pull historical game data for analysis?

Hello,

Indeed there would be a lot of possibilities for data mining and statistical analysis on a range of games. Some people from various backgrounds have expressed interest. The thing is, extracting data can be a lot of work - especially if it has not been thought out to be extracted for a specific purpose in the first place - and people expressing interest often expect this work to happen for free or by magic ;)

Except in some rare cases with publisher partnerships, we haven't been able to allocate time to this kind of interest (however frustrating it might be to the requester's curiosity I'm afraid). Sorry if it's a little disappointing to you!

Makes sense.
When I think about how much work it is for BGA to replay an historical game, it's easy to see why.
Thanks for the answer anyway.
