[Guide] Missions 24, 36, 43

Post by Romain672 »

Hi, here is my first try to create a condensed guide for this game.
These missions are the one where the commander distribute the differents tasks.

First of all, the commander should choose the further player who said 'yes' when he gave the first task. Because the furthest player got more informations (the yes/no of others) to decide if he should take the task or not.
If all players said 'no', the task should go to the closest player.

Secondly, each player should check the strength of his hand:
( - first, if a player got a problem with a specific color, he could try to said yes on this color on some cases ; )
- if a player got a weak hand he should said yes to some everage tasks he can win (pretty obvious) ;
- if a player got a strong hand, he should try to said no to many tasks he can leave to others. This can start to be problematic on a task b5 if that player got b2/b7/b8/b9, because others will not know you refused for that. So with a table of good player, you can still said 'no' if you are the first player to talk (if no one got the task, you will get it), else you just said 'yes' anyway on those cases.
The main thing to understand with a strong hand, is that you can more easily have the lead on the turns, so you will have more manoeuver to decide which color the team will play. And outside of that, it's easier for the team to gave you back the lead because you got a strong hand, which let you play where you want.

Thirdly, once a task is seen:
- if it's a 9, there is no much doubt, the one which have the 9 (or no card of that color, or a weak hand + one card of that color + a rocket) will take it.
- if it's lower and you took it, you should start to wonder what will happen if your highest card of that color come as a task and you already are full in tasks. How well can you manage it?
Do you not care much? (you have 8+9)? D
Can you pass the task 'easily' in another way (you have 2+5+8+9 in another color)?
These questions are really important because there is a no negligeable part of the time where this will happen (if you took 2 first tasks, probability is 14.7%).

And I believe that's all that come to me for the moment, it was really short compared as what I usually do, but I suppose it's because it's very situationnal, so pretty hard to gave advices.

I could summaryze point 2 like that:
Taking a task you don't want with a strong hand is problematic.
Taking a task you don't want with a weak hand is REALLY problematic.
