Reputation Function

I don't know if you all keep up with current events, but a huge chunk of the USA is being hit with terrible winter weather right now. Today it caused my internet to go out for a bit while I was in a game and my opponent kicked me out of the game while I tried to get logged on onto my iPad.

So, my question/comment is this; is there some particular reason people with otherwise impeccable reputation can't get the occasional forgiveness? Could we maybe get a once a month "no big deal, no punishment this time" type deal? It seems that the whole reputation thing is a bit harsh for those of us who never bail on games intentionally.

Anyway, sorry if this has been brought up before, but I was a little irritated that something out of my control impacted me so foolishly.

I think it is important to understand that a Karma of 90% is absolutely not a big deal. Even something like 60-70% is absolutely not dramatic. You regain Karma quickly and the vast majority of players understand that Karma of 90% most likely signifies only an unfortunate incident. You can see it as a friendly warning and it happens to most players at some point, nothing to worry about. That is not to say that the reputation system can't be improved but it has proven to be quite useful as it is.
