Update 7 march

Post by Lunalol »

• New scenarios in beta test:
Germany 1945: lack of naval transport, bombing run and Italian transport line for Axis
Soviet vs. Western 1945-1946: lack of naval transport, amphibious invasion, nuclear effect removal and limit of 3 USS by ports

• New naval supply system identical to that of naval movement during the action phase
• New top bar colorized to display active faction
• New button at bottom of supply dialog will be activated soon to optimize the distribution of convoys
• Not so many bugs fixed and improvements, still need your help for testing

Have fun and thanks for playing :)

Naval transport for new scenarios is implemented (without naval units).
For Germany 1945, Italian transport line for Axis is implemented too.

I can't put my finger on exactly what you changed but the naval supply does seem to be working more smoothly now. It would be good if the computer could stop asking for intercepts of Fleets with 6 sorties doing a supply run as that is still catching a lot of people out.

Weird oddity, I'll raise a bug report about it at some point. The system doesn't automatically recognise travelling through the Suez canal for supply so won't offer you a convoy in Alexandria if there are Axis intercepts in the western Med, even though the convoy can avoid those by going through the canal.

It should do it.

You're right, I forgot again 6 sorties fleet.

Done some double checking. So in the game in question Alexandria is under German control so presumably registers that there is a surface action counter. Now according to the rules (4.2.4) the convoy can move directly from Port Said to Suez along the canal, and it works fine if you manually instruct it and does not allow a German intercept, but the supply box won't offer it as an option. So I assume either the computer is treating Port Said as being in sea zone 26 and therefore thinks its interceptable or its reasoning that 31 is adjacent to 26 and therefore interceptable. In either case it clearly does things correctly when you manually apply it so I assume its just the bit that decides what to offer you in the supply box that is having a problem.

I have seen issues with Port Said in my current game.

I have British units attacking Turkey from Syria, and there are convoys in Haifa, Port Said, Alexandra, and Benghazi.

The drop down list in the supply phase offers options for the other 3 but not Port Said.
So I think there is something buggy happening with convoys in Port Said.
