Opening a table is not a commitment. That's only a suggestion of "I'd like to play this game with those options, anyone interested?". It's not being a tournament organiser.
You can open as many tables as you want at the same time with different options and on different games, plus be waiting on 30 or more other tables across different games. As soon as one of those games start, you will automatically quit all the other tables (as you can only be in one real time game at once).
I'm in the opinion that table creator should be able to quit the table at any moment before the game start. It's not an abandon, as nobody committed themselves to play this game. Then, when the administrator quit, you have the following option:
(1) The table is closed and everyone is kicked out, which would be worse that current situation.
(2) The administrator role is given to the first player, which is the current situation, and not that bad since you have no obligation to change the options or whatever, the only additional responsibility you have is to click on "Start the Game" when you consider there is enough players.
(3) Nobody is administrator any more, but the Devs add a new button "become administrator" on the administrator and the first to click on it becomes administrator (and as long as no one click on it, the game cannot start).
