Is anything ever going to happen with the games that no longer have an active developer? We see games like the Werewolves of Millers Hollow with bugs that haven't been touched in over a year, other games stuck in Alpha or Beta because the developer has just disappeared.

Why would they be ?
As a dev, you have a list of granted license, you can work on any item from that list.

How much would it benefit vs how much it would cost to pay someone to dig into someone 10 years old code ?
Not worth it IMO whereas new very popular games are much more interesting to spend money on.

They still offre some reward for debugging though, so that's one step along that direction

That's a good point, I haven't seen the code, but it can be difficult to fix someone's else old code that may or may not be well-documentated.

Well, it is happening now with Backgammon! And I have seen bug corrections / improvement of "old" games here and there, after years of nothing happening. (E.g. Tzolkin got a highly anticipated Undo button ater many years without work on the game.) What I want to say is, you can always have some hope, but can't expect anything.
