Checkers: version with 12 stones or with 20 stones. poss. to choose ?

I am new here.
I like to play checkers.
I prefer the version with 12 stones on a smaller board.

My question is, is there a possibillity here, to choose between a version with 12 stones or with 20 stones ?
And if yes, how ?

kind of. you likely want the "straight checkers" option. This has 12 pieces versus the international version which has 20 pieces. There are additional differences, however, in straight checkers you can only capture and move forward, save for kings which can capture and move backwards (but only single spaces). International all pieces can capture backwards and the kings can fly (skip spaces when moving or capturing).
