Are developers paid for completing a game

Post by NogeOak »

I am sorry for asking this, I'm sure it must be stated somewhere but i have been looking the pages and FAQ for 15mins and didn't see it. When a developer completes a project successfully is he paid?

Mostly no - development is done by volunteers. There are some devs doing contract-work for the premium titles, but the majority are working for free.

Hello.

As I understand, the developper community is volunteer.

I let the experienced developpers answer but I think some developpements can be payed however for the majority that is not the case.
Official BGA developper newb

Are you a developer yourself, NogeOak? For example, I posted last week asking for a developer, and I am willing to pay. See the posting for Elongo.

Yeah, it's volonteer unless specifically said otherwise.
That being said, you usually receive free premium subscription once your game goes to beta along with a free (Real) board game of your choice :)
