Checked now endlessly the forum about a maybe already existing thread but I didn't find one therefore I will open this one. Excuse me in case I have overseen an already existing thread/discussion. I love playing Race for the Galaxy and I wonder why especially this configuration was chosen for the arena mode for Race for the Galaxy. It is the "youngest" setting with regard to the expansion. The "older" expansions with prestige, goals and take overs are known by a lot of more people than the Xeno expansion. And a lot of people don't know it as it was long time not even available to purchase for the real table. Same here. I have played the "old expansions" so many times, but I hardly know the Xeno expansion. Asking around in my really big group of boardgame players and acquaintances hardly anybody knows this expansion. So why is especially this one in Arena mode? That doesn't make sense. ...
So I request if there is maybe a chance in setting up a separate Race for the Galaxy mode in Arena without Xeno but with the known ones that also other players can again enjoy competing and playing. Or in changing the mode back to the "normal" expansions that so many more people know and like. I checked myself the Xeno expansion and I don't like it at all, same with my boardgame buddies. As i do have everything in real life for the table even if I could purchase it, I would not even buy it. And again, same with my boardgaming buddies. I'm quite disappointed that I do not have the chance to participate in Arena with Race for the Galaxy, what I really would like to do. And again the same with a good amount of people I know.
What I have experienced is that not that many people enjoy RfG with Xeno as there are who enjoy the "old" expansions in what ever constellation. Please set back RfG without Xeno, even the simple basic game is more fun. In case you need a German translation of my lines, please let me know.
