Turn player abilities off

Post by Wreckage »

I pretty much never play this game online for one simple reason, the player abilities are very unbalanced. I own the game, and when we play on a real table we play the game without any abilities and the game is very fun this way. I have heard of other groups that play this way as well.

My appeal is to the publisher to add an option to turn player abilities off.

Thanks,

Ghost and Belle are the most powerful. I wish here online we had the option of playing without those characters

Without special abilities, the game will be interesting at first, but then quickly become boring, as all the games become similar. As for the lack of balance, only Tuco clearly stands out, although he's not hopeless. Different characters are the strongest for different numbers of players. The difference isn't so huge that if someone picks a character they think is strong, they'll almost certainly win. I've won arena championships under different rules—three- and four-player, with both me and the computer choosing the character: over the long haul, the strongest player will often win, not the one playing with the strongest character. Ghost is only the strongest in a three-player game—and even then, for the average player, all their moves are obvious, and their skills aren't all that useful.

I don't think it's too crazy of an ask. I'm not sure how hard it would be for the programmer to create that version but if simple enough i dont see the harm. People like to play games in different ways, i think this site does a fair job of accommodating variances
