I've yet to finish a full Main Event game in Duel mode. One failed due to a bug earlier this year, another one was halted by a concession (a useful note to anyone if you concede the first leg of a Duel the computer ends the match and you don't play a second leg
so do play out your final turns). However, I do wonder both about the feasibility and desirability of a Triple system.
Here is how a Triple match would work. Three players (1 to 3) would play three successive games, with the following arrangement:
1: Axis, 2: Western, 3: Soviet
1: Soviet, 2: Axis, 3: Western
1: Western, 2: Soviet, 3: Axis
So each player would get a chance to play the Axis and each player would get a chance to play each of the powers (you can sort of do this by setting up three tables with each player hosting one of the tables and setting themselves as the Axis but you do not guarantee how the Western/Soviet faction falls).
Obviously the question of whether it is possible is directed almost entirely at Lunalol - and I already suspect the answer is that if it is it would be too much work to implement.
But I also wonder if it would be desirable. If the mode kicked off all of the games at the same time and they ran simultaneously then I suppose it would solve the downtime problem - you would be guaranteed to have at least one game where you were active in the opening. I'm not sure what you would use as a tie-breaker (NW works when Germany wins and for the Western player [for whom its effectively a track of casualties] but not so well for the Soviets where the NW is greatly increased by collapsing at some point during the game).
