Spreading hatred in community and being rude in PM without any explanations

Hello everybody,

lately I am dealing with a few players who send me very rude personal messages where they attack me.

Those messages content rude comments about me and that players on this page do not like me and that their friends told them everything about me and that I insulted many players. I always ask them to explain the situation. However, they refuse to tell me what is going on. I have never received any clarifications.

I would like to ask if there is some way to deal with it? I know I can give them red thumb or report them. However, I am worried that it is not a permanent solution because they will continue to spread hatred and rumors about me. I am here only to play games so it is very exhausting to deal with this.

Does anyone else have been in similar situation and can give me advice what to do?

Hi,

It seems you have met a toxic personality. From my experience IRL and online, bullies feed on emotional reactions from people they bully. Best strategy is to cut them off. Red thumb is appropriate for this, as it will prevent this user from interacting again with you.

Also definitely report bullying behaviour. From the looks of it this user could be the same with a secondary account than one that I personally found borderline toxic in the forums. If you report inappropriate behaviour crossing the line, this will get this user moderated or banned and in doing so, you are protecting the whole community from their toxic behaviour.

So please don't worry about it too much, it happens. A lot of people are wonderfully nice, but not everyone. Just use the tools provided to help us weed out this type of behaviour and keep our community nice and friendly.
