Not sure this line needs to be here...

Post by ViolentSilence »

On the description of Hand & Foot you get the line
"Board Game Arena would like to thank (Public Domain) for making it possible to have this game here."

I'm pretty sure Public Domain means it isn't necessary to thank anyone, but it did amuse me with how awkward it sounds!

We can certainly be thankful that the public domain exists! ;)

Otherwise, this should be a post in the Hand and Foot game forum, or a bug report. Every game is its own independent module managed by the developer including meta information about the game, so your remark should reach the developer, and of course not every volunteer developer follows on the general suggestions forum.

I was mostly posting because I found the line to be quite funny when I read it. Is it a developer thing though if the line is generated by the site? It feels like a boilerplate, so if it's serious enough to report as a bug, should it be to the developer or the site team? Just as a note to not include the line when the publisher is listed as Public Domain?

I thought that I had clarified that this should go to the developer in my post.
To be clear: the developer listed in the meta information '(Public domain)' for the publisher name. The site correctly thanks the publisher named '(Public domain)' (computers don't understand what they do). The developer should leave the publisher name empty in order to avoid this.
