So far I've played only Seasons on this site, but I know many other board games. I would prefer not to rely on reading the message log so much.
There are events common in Seasons and other games that would be nice to highlight:
- highlight the last manually activated card/token with a color. In Seasons, M:TG and similar games some cards have activated abilities. Just highlight the card that was activated last and it will be helpful for keeping track what has just happened.
- highlight the last automatically triggered token/card with another color. In Seasons, there are many cards which trigger when a certain action is performed.
- (controversial?) display the number of points from visible tokens in play that grant points on the end. For example in Puerto Rico and Seasons you have cards/buildings on the table which add victory points at the end. They rarely disappear. Savvy players will manually keep track of that and add up points by hand. It could be displayed next to the number of VP, in parentheses.
