"[Player] Will lose this game no matter what"

Post by nmkaplan »

I was playing a "competitive" Agricola game with 3 other random BGA members. We were entering the midgame when a message that says "[Player] will lose this game no matter what" popped up in the game log. The player the message referred to immediately left the game, which was super duper annoying.

So my question is: what is the deal with this notification in the log? There's no way that this implementation is "smart" enough to determine that a player has definitely lost the game in the 4th round. And implementing such a notification seems to serve only to encourage players to leave a game before the end. I've certainly never seen that notification anywhere else. So what gives?

That's the standard notification that shows up after someone leaves. So I think you might have noticed the message and the quitting in the opposite order from which it actually happened.
