Small Feature Suggestion alleviating PRO players' frustration

Post by Kropototo »

Hey guys,

Here's the situation:

Pro players joining unrestricted games (that is, not restricted to a specific level) get frustrated and irritated at beginner players.

Here's the suggestion:

Display a small window before game start/join with this message: "Warning! You are joining an unrestricted game, you may experience frustration."

Or something else. But do you get the idea?

Best regards,

What do you mean by a PRO player? A professional is someone who is getting paid to do the activity, and I'm fairly certain BGA is not tracking those players to implement something for them.

If you mean someone who is ranked Good or above (and thus frustrated with beginners) they have been on the site long enough to know that games can be restricted by skill level. The should either check those settings or create their own tables and implement them.

If they are too lazy to check the settings, it is on them to become less lazy, not the site. I could see it being frustrating to always receive a pop-up message for every table joined stating that there may be a weak opponent. There already is a message if someone at the table is a beginner. (And, if there's a message that there could be weak players, should a pop-up be also given that there may be strong players and you will most likely lose?)

If they cannot create a table because it is a premium game... Well, that's one more incentive to become premium. If I go to a friend's house to play games, and don't bring any myself, I can't really complain that they aren't good at the games they provide that I want to play.

Can a moderator please delete my thread?
I didn't post my suggestion to get into a debate/argument with fellow players.
I'm too tired to justify or explain anything.

What did you expect on a public forum? This is exactly what a forum is about.

Some player don't get there are settings on games, it could help if they were somehow more visible, or if player's get hints to look at them. It would be a part of the solution :)

There are a lot of things that can help here. There are a lot of improvements needed on general. Too many games and the filter system need a lot better
