What's the best way to set up a game you want to learn?

Post by ReesPhilly »

Hey all-- I'm a reasonably new BGA'er.

So I've been loving playing the games I already know how to play, and playing games that are easy to learn, but now I'd like to get seriously greedy and learn a few more complex games I've been curious about. But I don't want to waste anybody's time and patience in doing so!

With that in mind, my question is, is it better to:

>start a game in Training Mode?

>start a game in Normal Mode, but limit opponents' playing level to near my own?

>or some other way that my limited experience here hasn't allowed me to consider?

Thanks in advance for any help offered here!!

Else, if you are fine with real players, you can look for that group:

You can also switch from "real time" to "turn-based". Then you get all the time you need to read the rules.
