Guru space

Post by Blacktango »

Hello,

I think the guru system is a great feature to involve the community. :geek:

When I had access to this system for the first time (for the Hanabi game), I didn't even know what gurus were.
So I came in with no info and misused the Arena format selection page.

Here is my feedback about the Arena format selection page :

1. The guru page is hard to find (the only link I found is in the notification area, when you got notified you are now a guru). You have to remember this URL : https://boardgamearena.com/gamegurus.
IMO some links should be added : on the game page you are guru and on the community page.

2. More informations should be given to the new gurus (by email, or with the BGA’s notification system), about how the Arena works and what is the role of Gurus.
For exemple a question I asked myself : is there only one mode available per game on the Arena, or is it possible to offer several ?

3. The Arena format selection page looks like a mini-forum, so we want to use it as.
There is a part of the page to list all variants of the game, allowing gurus to vote for or against and another to discuss about the votes.
Which one is which is very counterintuitive :

The textarea to post a discussion message (on the left) is very small so we don’t even see it. Instead, we mixed discussions and propositions in the right part.
(Note: Since Hanabi was not on Arena yet, maybe nobody in my guru’s group known how to use this page  )

Thx for reading! :D

It's on the Community page under the heading "Congratulations, you are a BGA Game Guru!"

Why are there even Hanabi gurus? It's not a competitive game, and the whole point of gurus is to make decisions about Arena, a competitive format.
