Secrete vote option is nowhere to be found in the rules (at least in the French version), I would like to clarify whether discussion is still allowed (except for the Clue Giver of course)?

It is allowed explicitly. Even the name of second phase is '2 - DISCUSS AND REMOVE CHARACTERS'.

Sorry, could you point me exactly to where it is "explicitely" stated that discussion is allowed with secrete voting on (that's the important part of the question here)?
Some players argue that discussion is against the spirit of secrete voting (= more competitive gameplay), so there's some confusion going on.

Don't get me wrong, I also infer from the rules that discussion is allowed, but I'd like some proof/reference I could refer to.
