Training mode after reaching expert or master rank?

Once a user reaches expert or master rank it seems the only games they can create are training mode games. Is this a glitch or just a feature of reaching that rank so that they are able to keep their rank forever without ever risking it?

From what I've seen, it's a very small minority of experts who exclusively play training mode games. I don't think there's anything wrong with that [experts playing in training mode], as it's nice to be able to play without worrying about Elo. After 60 days of only playing training mode games, you no longer appear on the "all-time" rankings list anyway.

I am one of the small minority of players who exclusively plays unranked (aka Training mode) games of Race. I've had my fun with ELO and Arena and have now retired from playing those modes. I personally find playing unranked games more relaxing and enjoyable these days, and perhaps others who only play unranked games feel the same way. The majority of Race games on BGA are ranked games, so anyone who prefers to only play ranked games shouldn't have a problem finding a game. And as Moonblast said, you have to continue playing ranked games if you want to stay on the ELO ladder list.
