Max Turn-Based Games in Progress?

I have two young kids so I thought the turn-based games were the best thing since sliced bread. I joined BGA yesterday just to play Koi-Koi, but I've since branched out into other games. The problem is, every time a game stalled for a long time, I found a new table to join in the interim. Now I've been capped out at 6 in-progress tables for hours but no one is playing. I even tried going for the quicker two-player games like Azul, but am still stuck. Now I wish I had gone for real-time instead because I was really excited to play.

I know if I finish games, I unlock more tables. So my question is, how many tables to you get max? Do premium members unlock more tables automatically or do you still have to finish turn-based games to unlock tables? I didn't see these answers in the FAQ.

Regular non-premium users don't have a cap for tables. Might be because you are a very new member.
More than 15 open tables is not uncommon here on rainy days...

Ahh, I see! You may be right about that. It's not in the FAQ as far as I can tell; hopefully they add it there at some point just to clarify to the new people. I just know when I try to join another table, I get a notification that I need to finish more turn-based games to unlock more tables.

I think everyone starts at a cap of 3 turn based games, and every finished one increases the cap by one, without limit.

I think you might be right. I discovered that I can still play a real-time game even when my turn-based tables are full -- risky in my situation but definitely allowed me to scratch the itch while waiting. Thanks!

If u want to increase ur max turnbased tables fast, play simple games (playtime <20 min).
idk if single player / practice mode counts though.

connect four is a great game for getting a lot of played games for that...
