Email reset without password?

This doesn't seem to be new, but I can't find an answer: I signed up with SM (which is linked to a defunct email address). I try to change the email address, but I need a password, and it's not the same as my SM. I can't change the password without an email, and I can't change the email without a password. Now that my premium account has expired, I need to update info to get that going again, but I'm in this awful loop. How do I get out of it? How can I get one or the other reset (I'd really love to keep my account and not start from scratch again). Help!

Yes, I've done that, but they send responses to my (defunct) email address by default so even that is a no-go.

It seems that in the first ticket you didn't think about giving your new email, so indeed it was a stalemate. I see another ticket where you did provide your new email, so now it should be possible for support to solve this.
