Possible BGA card power interpretation pdf?

Post by gnocchi donkey »

Is is possible for a card interpretation of how the bga version designer decided for questionable cards? There is already notes on mimic same as actual rule sheet, but when you have a card in game especially a tournament , to know exactly what is required for activation. For example one card is roll 111 and get another turn. If you roll another 1 does it cancel it out? I had this card in tourney and never pushed it for that reason. First time i played I had card that was 222 or greater. To me that meant 222,2222,22222, 333,3333 etc being that 333 is greater (one more XP). I thought game was broken because i did not activate. That time cost me the game because i was expecting the 2 paws. Yes it would probably be an overpowered card, but common sense is not the base of this game. card that you can change face of die for 1 energy is overpowered for its cost if you ask me. Thank you.

Time Freeze, I could understand different interpretations, but it needs [1] to be rolled, and you need 3 faces or more. So if you roll 4, 5 or 6 times [1], it is valid.

Unfortunately time and energy is lacking, but I do have a desire to make 1 big FAQ on card interaction on King of Tokyo and their companion games, and am currently awaiting some feedback from IELLO what may be shared and what not. Might still take a couple of months before I am able to complete it.

I confirm. Same for cars like poison quills, it will work with 222, 2222... But not with 333.

If I remember fire breathing is BROKEN with poison quills or shrink ray. Fire Breathing reads "your neighbors lose one heart if you roll at least one smash. Lose one heart NOT take one damage. Poison quills should NOT activate. It specifically says "monsters you smash" you neighbor are not getting smashed, if they were they would be taking the damage like as if attacker was in tokyo. quills or shrinkray is plural when occupying tokyo. Might want to straighten that out. That is not vague and makes for a overpowered combo for a mere 8 energy total. Put simply it is FIRE BREATHING. it is fire, not fiery quills or a fiery shrink ray

I need to check specific card text, but are you quoting a 1st edition or 2nd edition card text?
In the first version, they often said something in the likes of "when you hurt, then this", but the revised version added symbols for clarity. Now they all say, "when you make a monster lose ❤️", and other cards say "when you roll 🐾".

Now, if you don't roll any Smashes 🐾, but you do roll [2][2][2], it activates Posiosn Quills which ADD 🐾🐾 to your roll, and thus, you do end up smashing.
