Persistent chat window pop-ups

How do I permanently leave a chat window. Often, when I leave a game, I get several pop-ups in the game chat window. Once i leave, I do not want to get those chats. How do I disable the chat window or permanent leave a chat window (If I exit BGA and reregister, that seems to be the only solution that consistently works.
