Russian players

I request the expulsion of all Russian players from this website; we must isolate all the citizens of this dictatorial country; NOT TO THE WAR
I also think it is a bit exaggerated to ban a whole country out of a site, because its leader is... (extremely nicely put) spiritually- and psychiatrically-challenged.ferranmatagalls wrote: ↑25 February 2022, 20:07 I request the expulsion of all Russian players from this website; we must isolate all the citizens of this dictatorial country; NOT TO THE WAR

You can use the Red Thumbs, instead.
I also find it psychologically difficult to play with players from Russia, at the moment, I am sorry. But that's how things are, even if this is just a gaming site.
Especially players who are indifferent and show no remorse or public sympathy about what their country's leader is... doing, at the moment (even if it's not their direct fault). I find it soul-crushing, and the country will meet huge well-deserved loss in the near/distant future, because of this tragedy.
I think we should all show support in this situation, in a way or another (neighbour countries are already helping Ukraine).
I would like to suggest the idea of banning every Pro-Putin username created after 24th. of February, 2022 and renaming every player who has a "Putin"-esque username created until 24th., as a way of showing support.
Merci. J'espère que tout ira bien, mais on verra.Hulkinette wrote: ↑25 February 2022, 21:48Je suis d'accord avec toi Ze Monstah. / I agree with you Ze Monstah.Ze Monstah wrote: ↑25 February 2022, 20:33I also think it is a bit exaggerated to ban a whole country out of a site, because its leader is... Il ne faut pas mettre tout le monde dans le même sac comme on dit en France. / Of course, we must be careful not to paint everyone with the same brush.
Certains russes ne soutiennent pas du tout la guerre déclarée contre l'Ukraine. / Some Russians do not support the declared war against Ukraine at all.
Ce serait injuste de les empêcher de jouer. / It would be unfair to prevent them from playing.
Et ici, on vient pour jouer. / And here, we come to play.

Wouldn't you bet 1 million dollars, that the guy who wrote that, is Swiss?Joseph2302 wrote: ↑25 February 2022, 22:28Exactly. This is a stupid suggestion, why punish everyone ever associated with Russia based on the actions of their government?

I think this goes greatly against what BGA stands for.
The current situation is not caused by the Russian people, but by their politicians. Some Russians did not want this either.
What may be a different option is to be able to create tournaments for certain nationalities. You're Swiss, so you could have a Swiss tounament, or something like it, and exclude all other nationalities.
But solely excluding 1 nationality is a step in the wrong direction.
The point is to increase the consequences of a nation declaring war, to make it maybe not do it in the future.Joseph2302 wrote: ↑25 February 2022, 22:28Exactly. This is a stupid suggestion, why punish everyone ever associated with Russia based on the actions of their government?
