I'm okay playing with confuses me in 7 Wonders Duel

It may well be my problem but I don't understand how to exclude the expansions in 7 Wonders Duel.

When I go into settings, for each expansion there are 2 drop down menus and a NO and a YES next to them.

I don't want to play with the expansions. I can't understand why there are 2 menus for each expansion and what the significance of the NO and YES mean.

If I want to turn off the expansions, what should I select in NO and YES menus? Should it be I NEVER WANT TO PLAY WITH in YES and I'm OK PLAYING WITH in NO? I am afraid I don't understand the use of 2 menus. I'm sure it's very simple and I'm missing something.

It's just a technical thing, all game options get their own filter by default. In the case of Yes/No it doesn't make much sense.
