Confirm rules for tie breaker in single elimination

Can the admins confirm what the rules are for a tie breaker when the game has no tie breaker. Specifically for single elimination.

I had previously heard thinking time, and also had heard oldest account. Neither of these were followed in the final round of the daily pirate tournament. Table https://boardgamearena.com/3/piratenkap ... 288179551 is the game in question.

Many users were asking for clarification, including the tournament organizer. Having tie breaker rules in the FAQ would be very beneficial, thank you.

I finish first, have less elo but have more thinking time, and tournament give me the win.. so i think thinking time is the time breaker in tournament.
In normal/arena game, it's look like juge by elo (must be confirm) or it's still by timer.
