Showed up, elimanated without playing a game

This is a heads up for all tourney directors. Know how to run a tourney, before posting one. I just joined king domino tourney. Pretty much a 2 player game. This one has it as a 3 player game??????. All 3 needed to arrive to run., with only 1 advancing. So when 2 of us arrived. Game did not start. And one of us gets eliminated. Me. Never ever in my life have I been eliminated before ever playing a game when I was there to play. Please check how you run a tourney so people don't have this happen to them. I will avoid all of his tourneys. As he won't reply to my tourney experience...Not funny.

The tournament organizer is not allowed to change settings after people join so you knew this when you signed up, correct?

As I said. If you are going to run a tourney know how to before it is too late to fix. I understood it was messed up on players when I joined...but I never expected to still somehow be eliminated without playingsoeri I upset the Master of tourneys rules and know how. Excuse me for not knowing that somehow somebody could run a tourney where players wait to play,, not get to play. And then get eliminated without playing. AND IS THAT PERSONS FAULT ????

The player count is the "fault" of the tournament organizer. The way players advance when there is a "tie" for first due to a player being a no show is not controlled by the tournament organizer. It is a product of how the tournament framework behaves on BGA (which was originally not designed for multi-player matches, so it wasn't an issue in the early days). You can search this Tournament forum for threads about that, for example Timeouts and elimination tournaments: potential solutions. I agree that it is messed up (which is why I won't be playing in multi-player tournaments again), but now you know and can decide for yourself if you want to risk that arbitrary selection in the future.

At the end of it, you didnt waste time playing in a tournament with someone who didnt show. Sounds like a win to me...
