Avoiding slow gamers to get in fast games

Post by Golden »

Hello, I would like to suggest an improvment about fast games.

Many of my fast games (8 or 12 or 24 plays/day) become or long games that lasts 1 month or I have to eject the person from the table because of 1 persons that is a "slow gamer" and that does not see that it is a fast game.
Well, I say does not see because it is what the persons tell me, they don't see the fast games even if I put a commentary that is a fast game.

Personaly I don't like games the goes over and over during 1 month, I am not in the game. But I am also fed up with people that get in and don't play because they can't. I just would like to play with only fast gamers.

So, as people don't see the fast games, could it be possible to put that people that have been ejected from games can not go in fast games please ?
I say only in fast games, they can play live or turn per turn at 1 or 4 turns per day. Just fast games so that the fast gamers can play and have a whole game fast. Is that improvment possible ?

Or is it possible to use colors so that people see in a moment that it is a fast game ?
Thanks a lot

For the problem you describe, what do you think of this idea: People who want to enter a table (of maybe more than 1 or 2 turns per day) have to mark a checkbox about the game speed before they are allowed to join. This is similar to an existing feature which demands players to mark a checkbox (with a warning you might loose karma due to bugs) when they want to join a game in beta status.

Yes, it can be a good idea, with colors showing the speed of the table

It can be a first step, but would it be enough ?
This website has to improve the visual aspect anyway

Speaking about fast turn-based suggestion, do you think an option "Avoid player with more than X games in progress" could be helpful? (at least for Alpha .. i have game started in August and the guy doesn't want to play)

Alpha games are always started in training mode, there is no penalty in quitting such games, that's because alpha can still have blocking bugs, and this shouldn't reflect on the reputation of players...

I have to admit that I have once entered a fast turn based game without realizing it, and what made a problem was that the other players had were in a different time zone than me, so their active hours were when I was sleeping. It actually took me a long time into the game to figure out why I was getting 'out of time' - then I was not proud of myself. I easily could - and would like to - play fast mode as long as active hours match, but when they don't it's impossible.

Anyway, I would really like it to be more obvious when a game is in fast mode and also make it easy to see when the active hours are. I would prefer not to make that mistake again.

Das hervorheben von schnellen Spieltischen wäre eine großartige Funktion. Das bitte auch unbedingt bei Echtzeit Spielen hinzufügen. Allen ein schönes Weihnachtsfest

A first step would be to allow joining a fast turn-based only during its playing hours.

All these are goods suggestions.
If I create a fast game I create it early in the morning to try to have the game full of players during the palying hours. If not, I know that someone which is not in my playing hours like americans will come in and the game will be slow. And when it is the last one, rhe game starts and it is finished. May be in 24 turns per day games, the person who creates the game should have to start the game, so that can eject someone not in the same time hours.
Also what was said up, too many games is just awfull. I have playes with persons that have more than 400 current games. How is it possible to play fast or just to play 400 games even if they are qliw ? Bga should put a limit or prevent those peoples to get in fast games.

We do have limits for "not many games": it depends both on karma and experience. So to play many many games at once, you need a very good reputation and you need to play a lot of turn based games.

And for different timezones, we already have this :)
