Expelling abusers

Post by Atrapa »

Hello,

It is very popular to play board games via mobile phone today. There are many palyers, setting up fast games. Mobile players join automaticly.

It happens a lot - especialy at travel, when you temporary loosing internet connection. Or you recive a phonecall. Or someone is asking you. Or you need to turn off something at kitchen. Or children request 30sec handle. Ot you change wifi spot. Or traveling with train you go tunnel.

There are many players waiting for you having 1 minute break to EXPELL YOU IMMIDIETLY. Especially, if they would loose a game and theirs precious ELO.

I am OK with loosing fast game, when something interrupt my play for ONE MINUTE.

I am OK to loose elo.

I m NOT ok, to loose 30 reputation. Just a second ago i had 99% progress in game, and my train went to tunnel for 40 second.

I would loose anyway, but this didnt stopped my opponent to expell me. This is so unfair. It makes me thinking that BGA via mobile is a hazard.

Best internet connection wins.
Is it fair?

If you know your connection is shaky and you can lose it at any moment, don't join real-time games, or fast games at least.

Exactly

I haven't got time to hang around waiting for people who have lost Internet on a train somewhere, they shouldn't be playing real time

You might know that you're only going to be away for a minute but I don't unless you tell me, so if you run out of time I'll usually give it a few seconds but then end the game so I can play another one

Board games arent meant to be played in tunnels or on a move in the city, but in a nice atmosphere in a house. Thats why they are called BOARD games. Something you place on a table. I understand how you feel, but games are competitions and they require your attention.
