Improving the experience of playing on after a player quitted/got skipped

So,the last time I played on after a player got timed-out,when we got to the end of the game,the result flashed up briefly,then poof,no more game.Okay,I get that the official result was a tie between the remaining players,because you need to preserve the integrity of the ratings,and a player dropping out could cause some wild points swings.But maybe you could leave the unofficial result up there,and email it to the players for a more satisfying gaming experience.
