Selling a card in the middle of an action

I am unclear about a rule. Or let's say that I thought I got it right, until things were handled differently here on BGA.

The zoo plan is "Handelshafen" - allowing me to sell a card for 3 whenever I want.

1. I am using the building action Lvl. 5 and build a two spaces cage.
2. That triggers a placement bonus which allows me to draw a card.
3. I am drawing the card.
4. I sell the card (due to the zoo plan effect).
5. And now I want to build another cage - but after drawing the card I cannot go back to building.

My understand has been that I should be allowed to draw and sell in between building. Now that I see it's implemented diferently here on BGA I am unsure. Can you help me out? What is correct?

The thing with dumb questions is you never get it when you asking them ... so I will try again.

How are you playing it: Is it allowed to use the upgraded building action to build a cage then receive the placement bonus (drawing a card) then to sell the card (due to the zoo plans effect) and then to build another cage?

Or is there anything in the timing order that prevents this sequence?

Do you have the game and move numbers?

If you are talking about selling using zoo map 4 (commercial harbor), my understanding is that you can build again, but without seeing the actual game state at the time, hard to say what happened.

I'll attempt to recreate the situation in one of my games if possible to see how it plays for me.
