What's the point of liking someone?

After every game I "like" whoever played with me and was not an asshole.

But I'm wondering: what is good about that? Does being "liked" bring any advantages?

Can I find out whether anybody ever "liked" me?

It's my understanding that the sole purpose of "liking" is that you need to hold some minimum ratio between "likes" and "reports". I believe you need to "like" 4:1 that you report. But I am not for sure.

Thanks for posting this question, I had the same question if there is anywhere the possibility to see how many likes/dislikes you received (and from whom). If you can't see I think it doesn't make sense. And if there is an (unwritten?) rule that you "need" to judge everyone you played with after a game.

Thumbs up and down are a BGA-wide feature, not specific to Catan. If you thumb someone up after a Catan game and then play some other game with them, you'll see that you gave them a thumbs up when you look at the results of that other game too. If would be better to post questions about this feature of BGA on the main BGA discussion forum, where a lot more people can answer, since this question has nothing to do with Catan.
