System is freezing but says "SYSTEM NORMAL"

Very frustrating to have more days of BGA not working than working lately. Today it is freezing again, requiring refresh with every move, yet BGA says "Service is Normal"

NO IT"S NOT!! So frustrating because there is no hope for help if BGA thinks things are ok.


Someone from BGA: Plesase explain to us what to do when time after time after time this is happening and we have no way to get help, to get it fixed, because you think it's ok

I am sorry, I know it is frustrating (it is happening in my games too).

Even though the server status web page reports OK, a BGA server admin knows about the problem and has been working on it today. The BGA staff is also frustrated with the issue, and is doing what they can to resolve it quickly.

I noticed BGA is trying to keep all data about all games since the beginning of time. I can't imagaine the cost/ maintainance/ stress on the servers doing this!

Mabye do us all a favor and dump data >5 years old or something?

Thanks for letting us know it's being worked on, though. It would help every one of us if you said that instead of "system is normal". If we knew you kenw and were already trying, it would be one level less bad

I'm having the same issue as the past several days: In turn based games (but not in real time games), every time I take any action it hangs at "move recorded, waiting for update" and nothing happens until I reload the page; then it shows me the action that already happened.

While it's good to know that server admins are aware and working on it, I only know that because I found this thread. That's really frustrating. There should be a banner on the site with a general notification for everyone, so people don't feel like the server maintainers don't know and the problems are just happening to them or the site is just generally broken and unmaintained. Because that's really what it feels like, unless you happen to search and find the right forum thread.

I made this bug report a few days ago for this ongoing, endlessly frustrating, problem. It is not about today. Very frustrating.

We suffers from a transient network issue on one of the servers.
With our hosting provider, we are working to fix this at the moment, and we are closely monitoring the situation.

Looks like they marked the bug "confirmed" overnight, and posted an update early this morning US time:

"Aug 7th 2023 8:10 • lordalx • Bug has been confirmed by developers:
A network maintenance occured this morning (CEST), I home this should have solved the current incident, but we'll keep it under close monitoring for a week at least"
