How to report a technical issue with a specific table?

Post by Chiffa of Kettari »

I suddenly am unable to access one of my turn-based games. It just won't open whatever I do (I tried to go through different starting pages, in browser, in web-app, on laptop, on mobile). I can open all other games, it's only 1 game I have problems with. I want to report this ASAP so as not to be penalised when I run out of time, but I don't see how to do that.

"Report a bug" page is about a web-site-wide bugs people vote for and has a warning "reports with the most votes are investigated first" - well, obviously no one would vote for a table-specific bug only I have issue with. So... is there any other way to flag a technical issue in a way where it would be investigated without other people voting for it?

Ah. I've just checked the general chat, it seems to be a global issue, so hopefully it get noticed. I still wonder how to report such things, though.

Yes indeed today it seemed to be a general issue with the website. But in general though if you find a bug or technical issue with a game, the report a bug page is where to go.

2 things I want to specify:
1) You can fill a report about the website or a game-specific one. Of course it depends on the developpers, games, and game-status, but game-specific reports will generally require really less votes to be considered. The advantage is that the specific game developper/maintainer will be notified, whereas they will not necessarily read messages on the forum.
2) The fact that they ask for the table number is for them to be able to see where is the issue, however another person can have the same issue on a different table and still vote for it. If they want they can add a comment with their table number or other info, or simply recognize to have the same issue and vote for it.

Sorry for the inconvenience. As usual when there is such an incident, all penalties incurred on the period of the incident will be automatically cancelled (please be aware that it may take some time).

For turn-based games there can be a problem, if such an incident falls into the timeframe where you usually make your moves. You cannot move that day and maybe just have no other timeslot on that day where you have free time for BGA. So you lose a lot of time until you make your move the next day. But as you don't run out of time immediately during the incident, there is no penalty to be removed. You either struggle later on in the game to keep in the time limit, or you get the penalty later on which will not be removed then.

It may be useful for such incidents to also add some bonus time to all turn-based games that have been running during that incident time when the incident is resolved.
