are teams randomly selected?

Wondering about games w/ a team option, like Exit Strategy, does BGA randomly select the team?
So if 3 people are up for Exit Strategy, I can try testing it out

I just answered myself!

I see an option for team setup = manual, and it says:
Players will get into teams according to their waiting room order: the first pair of players will be one team, the second pair is another team, etc.

Yes, random and manual team selections (for 4, 6 player team mode) are both available as you can read in the options.
