Theme: The game has a space theme. Your alien faction awakens on a spaceship and competes with other factions that have also awoken.
You explore the Ark, opening and enabling parts of the ship, you power up rooms, integrate the Ark’s technology with your own to advance your faction, exploit resources needed to awake the rest of your species, collect alien artifacts and investigate the reason why your faction is on the Ark.
Goal: The goal of the game is to unravel the reason why your alien faction is on the Ark – this is represented by a secret mission card unique per player. The first player that unlocks their mission card and then accomplishes what their mission card says, wins the game.
Mechanics:
• Modular board - you construct the ship as you play and in each game you use new modules. There are 40 different ship modules (rooms).
• 8 different factions - each has between 3-4 unique powers and feels different to play
• a unique mechanism called boost-placement never seen in any other game
• 45 unique mission cards
• other modes of play, including 3 co-op and solo modes
The game has higher complexity and lots of modules, factions, and alternative ways to play, hence I expect that development will take longer. However, to make development easier:
• I have divided the project into 4 manageable milestones and I offer copies of the game as gifts after the completion of each one
• I also have a background in software development and can help with the model and the business logic - so you do not have to go through all the specific rules of the game
• Of course, I would also be available for testing and clarifications and playing some games on Tabletopia to get a feel of the game
The project is divided into the following milestones:
M1. Tutorial Mission.
Develop only those features needed to play the tutorial First Mission.
M2. Real Game
Some of the large things that are added with this milestone are: combat, artifact cards, mission cards and adapting the board size based on player count.
Finishing M1 and M2 would cover all rules as stated in the Rulebook without any appendices. It would make the game playable.
M3. First 4 Factions
There are 8 factions in the game, this only covers the first 4 that come in the Standard Box. An explanation of the rules for the 4 factions can be found in the Faction Sheets and Appendix III.
M4. The Glitch
This milestone introduces the most popular solo and coop mode. An explanation of the rules for The Glitch can be found in Appendix III.
In addition to this, the game has:
• 2 more solo and co-op modes
• 2 more competitive modes
• 4 more factions
All of the above are mentioned in Appendix I, II, II and IV and the Faction Reference sheet. However, there is no plan to develop those for the online game.
As a gift for successfully developing each milestone, I offer copies of the Premium Box and "Sealed section" expansion. Together they hold:
• basic game
• 8 factions
• all the competitive, co-op and solo modes
• components for a 5th player
You can see all components on pages 2 and 3 of the rulebook.
M1 - 20 copies of Premium Box and "Sealed section" expansion after completion of the M1 milestone
M2 - 10
M3 - 10
M4 - 10 copies
