Can you always win solo?

Post by Romain672 »

Hi,
Let's assume the devil is next to you and he controls the cards of the deck and see your actions.
Can you survive one turn if devil try to make you lose?

If the answer is no, same question with Pineapple enabled.

Solo mode scoring rule has been changed. From now on, only royalties score in solo.

But even with the new scoring. Yes you can 100% win all the time if you play boringly bad (never risking a foul). Barry Greenstein (famous poker player) said you cannot win in OFC (multiplayer game) if you are too safe never fouling. He said fouling 15% of the time is about right to have a chance to win. That is about 1 foul every 6 rounds. I think the solo mode should allow 1 foul as the current implementation kills the spirit of the game. At the moment if you never take a risk, you will always win, it could take 20 rounds but you will win.

yes, playing to never foul is kinda weird. when i train outside of BGA, i just write down -6 for fouls and try to reach 50 points as fast as possible. alternatively, to make it more challenging one could put a limit on the number of hands to reach the target score, or lose a small amount (like 1 point) each hand

Added round limit in solitaire mode.
The limit follows the game length option. Thus, the default is 6, excluding Fantasyland rounds.
Now players can't win by playing a bunch of rounds safely.

Unrelated (I'll make a separate post or suggestion report), but why is there no bonus for making AA top and a wheel middle when playing 2-7 lowball in the middle?

On the PlayPineapple app, that gives 2 fantasy lands. (They also only count a wheel as 4 points. 8 Points is a bit OP. KK makes 8 points but carries much greater foul risk and is mor difficult to convert.)

Please don't post unrelated replies and instead use BGA bug/suggestion system to post your idea, with proper basis which supports the rule change.
Simply 'I think this is overpowered' or 'another site/app doesn't work like this' is not good enough. It should be a major consensus.
