After 11,900+ regular play games the ARENA format opened this morning. (We deserve a special badge for playing the 1st ever Arena game on BGA)
**WARNING**
Our game was super glitchy.
But...my tips before you jump in.
1. Read the rules. Blah, blah, blah...but yeah. It'll help... a lot.
2. Do a google search for the explanation of the CIV cards. In the middle of the game it's confusing to not know how these work.
3. Look at your two scoring goals. You are competing with your neighbors, and the goals may be diametrically opposed. Make a plan.
4. Understand that you not only control what tile you place when you control S.U.S.A.N., you also control what you neighbors get. Giving an opponent two water tiles when you are competing for fewest water... yeah.
5. Pay attention to the impending end of the game. You can often control if the game ends now or goes another round.
6. Understand that this is not a fast game. 15-20 minutes per player should be expected.
